NASDAQ OMX Announces Equity Symbol Changes for PowerShares Exchange-Traded Funds

NEW YORK, March 22, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) has announced, at the request of the sponsor, NASDAQ OMX® will�change the equity symbols for ten PowerShares Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) listed on The NASDAQ Stock Market®. The ETFs will remain listed on The NASDAQ Stock Market. The names of the ETFs will remain the same as will their CUSIP numbers.



The changes to the following ETFs will be effective on Wednesday, March 23, 2011:



NASDAQ OMX requests that traders and market data vendors make the necessary internal database and system changes to accommodate the new PowerShares trading symbols on all UTP and NASDAQ OMX proprietary products prior to the start of the trading day tomorrow.



Please note that all of these PowerShares ETFs are listed on the NASDAQ Global Market (G).



NASDAQ OMX disseminates intra-day portfolio values (IPV) as well as daily valuation messages for the PowerShares ETFs on the GIDS data feed product. In coordination with the exchange-listed ticker changes, NASDAQ OMX will also be releasing new GIDS ticker symbol changes for these 10 PowerShares ETFs on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.
