TULSA, Okla., May 25, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — 3DIcon Corporation (OTCBB:TDCP), a developer of volumetric, three-dimensional projection and display technologies, today announced the release of Pixel Precision® Version 3.0. 3DIcon’s software product was designed for those engaged in the research, design, and development of applications and products involving DLP® technology from Texas Instruments. Pixel Precision v3.0 provides expanded capabilities and is fully compatible with Texas Instruments’ latest DLP® Discovery™ 4100 product line. The prior generation product, Pixel Precision v2.0 has been sold to major universities and laboratories across the U.S. Both Pixel Precision® and the Discovery™ line of products are distributed by Digital Light Innovations (DLi).

Pixel Precision is a software tool that interfaces seamlessly with the DLP® Discovery™ line of products and provides users with quick and precise control over individual micro-mirror pixel elements. Such control would otherwise involve tedious programming. Pixel Precision® eliminates this programming entirely by providing the user with point-and-click control of individual mirrors in the DMD array.

Jorge Moguel, Business Development Manager for Digital Light Innovations, commented, “We are excited to see the versatility and power of 3DIcon’s Pixel Precision® software extend to Texas Instruments’ DLP® Discovery™ 4100 products. The ease of use, pixel level control, and advanced sequencing capabilities of this new release are ideal for all users ranging from those new to the Discovery™ architecture to advanced users stretching the limits of DLP® technology.”

Pixel Precision® v3.0 new features include:

  • Interfacing with and driving Texas Instruments’latest Discovery™ 4100 product line

  • Interfacing with ALP 4.1 developed and produced by ViALUX GmbH

  • Projecting moving images and animation by reading uncompressed avi files and projecting in continuous mode

  • Processing larger files without the need for additional computer power through dynamic use of memory

  • Ease of Use tools that make Pixel Precision v3.0 even more user-friendly

“With the wider use of DLP® Discovery™ products, our version 3.0 will enable a growing number of users to benefit from the ease of use and speed that Pixel Precision uniquely offers to DLP® researchers. We are pleased to provide software compatible with Texas Instruments’ products,” stated 3DIcon Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Hakki Refai.
