CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 27, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Tommy Lawing Jr. was named to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC) by Speaker of the House Thom Tillis, and affirmed by the North Carolina General Assembly.
NCREC is an independent state government agency whose primary function is to license and regulate North Carolina’s 80,000 real estate agents. The commission is a nine-member panel that evaluates policy and hears appeals. Lawing’s three-year term begins July 1, 2011.
Lawing is the President of T.R. Lawing Realty, Inc., one of the oldest and largest property management firms in the Carolinas. Having recently celebrated 40 years in real estate, Lawing is a long-standing member of Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association and has devoted numerous hours of service to the real estate profession and the Charlotte community. He was Carolina Multiple Listing Services, Inc. (CMLS) president in 1993 and was awarded the association’s highest honor, Realtor® of the Year, in 1994. On the state level, Lawing served as president of the North Carolina Association of Realtors® (NCAR) in 1999 and was honored as N.C. Realtor® of the Year in 2004.
